SHORT CUTS TO PERFECT

FLAT TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.

Always cut from the back of the neck to the

crown, using the longest comb setting.

Hold the comb attachment flat against the

head and slowly move the clipper up

through the hair. Use the same technique

for the sides, cutting from the bottom to

the upper side of the head.

For the front to the crown, cut the hair

against the direction in which it grows.

Then even it up with the sides.

For a flat top, use the flat comb, not the

attachment comb. Just cut hair on top of

the head over flat comb. (see above).

To taper hair down to the neckline, use

attachment comb #1. Comb hair and

check for uneven spots. Outline sideburns

and neck areas (see “Outlining”).

Repeat around sides

and back of head.

If you want hair to be

even shorter:

A) Apply more

pressure to the head

with the attachment

comb that is in place.

This takes a little

practice, of course.

B) Just switch to a

shorter attachment

comb.

Remember, it’s better to

leave too much hair than

too little. For longer hair

on top, use the barber

comb and lift hair on the

top of the head, cutting

over the comb. Or hold

the hair between the fin-

gers and cut to desired

length.Always working

from the front to the

back of the head, gradually cut the hair short-

er by reducing the space between the comb

or fingers and the head. Comb often to check

for uneven strands, and to get rid of trimmed

hair.

OPERATING

INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance is intended for household use.

Use on Alternating Current 60 hertz

only. This appliance has a polarized plug

(one blade is wider than the other). As a

safety feature, this plug will fit in the outlet

only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in

the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not

fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the

proper outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this

safety feature.

Your new Conair

haircut kit has everything

you need to achieve professional haircuts at

home. It features a powerful clipper with

adjustable taper control and high carbon

steel blades for cutting precision. Also

included are 9 attachment combs (1/8”, 1/4”,

3/8”, 1/2”, 5/8”, 3/4*”, 7/8” for different hair

lengths, left and right ear combs), barber

scissors, 1 styling comb with angled teeth,

barber cape, storage case, a barber comb

with straight teeth, and 2 styling clips to

assist you in cutting longer hair styles. A 28

minute step-by-step How-to DVD filled with

styling tips and techniques. It also comes

with lubricating oil, a cleaning brush and a

blade guard for easy maintenance of the clip-

per blades.

THE CONAIR GUIDE

TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME

Before you start:

1. Inspect your clipper. Make sure it’s free of

hair and dirt, properly oiled, and running

smoothly.

2. Place a towel around the neck of the person.

3. Seat the person so that his or her head is at

your eye level.This gives you greater visibility and

control.

4. First, comb hair until it’s tangle-free. Then hold

clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re ready

to cut.

MEDIUM TO LONG CUT

To begin with, cut only a small amount of hair

until you become used to the length each attach-

ment leaves the hair. Try the longest attachment

on the clipper first. If you want a shorter cut, you

can then use shorter combs.

• Short attachment comb (number 1) cuts hair

to 1/8”.

• Medium-Short attachment comb (number 2)

cuts hair to 1/4”.

• Medium-Long attachment comb (number 3)

cuts hair to 3/8”.

• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts hair

to 1/2”.

• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts hair

to 5/8”

• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts hair

to 3/4”

• Long attachment comb (number 7) cuts hair

to 7/8”

• Left ear attachment comb lightly tapers over

left ear.

• Right ear attachment comb lightly tapers over

right ear.

OUTLINING:

Outlining requires no attachments. Comb

hair into the desired style. Position the

clipper between the sideburns and the ear

(see below), making sure the corner edge

of the blade is against the hairline. With

the outline of the hair as your guide,

slowly move the clipper over, around and

behind the ears. For the back of the neck

and the sideburns, hold the clipper upside

down (see above) and, holding it against

the skin at the length desired, move the

clipper downward.

STOP. COMB. CHECK.

For best results, do as the professionals

do: comb hair often, and check clipping

results as you comb. This way you avoid

uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.

where oxygen is being administered.

10. Never operate the appliance with the air

openings blocks or while on a soft surface, such

as a bed or couch, where the air

openings may be blocked. Keep the air

openings free of lint, hair, and the like.

11. Always attach plug to appliance first, then

to outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls to

“OFF” then remove plug from outlet.

To begin cutting hair:

1. The hair should be combed in its

natural direction.

2. Using the largest attachment comb, trim

sides from the bottom upward. Hold clipper

lightly against the hair

with teeth of the

attachment comb

pointing upward, yet

flat against the head.

Gradually lift the clip-

per upward and out-

ward through the hair,

trimming just a little at

a time.

3. Unplug clipper and slightly loosen

screws. (See FIG. 2)

4. Position the extreme left-hand tooth of

the top blade so that it either covers or

appears on the left of the first small tooth

on the bottom blade.

5. Make sure that the big tooth on the

bottom blade touches the extreme right hand

tooth of the top blade.

SPECIAL OIL

To maintain the blades of your Conair

clipper, oil them after every three or four

haircuts. Gently place a few drops of oil on

the teeth of the blades, using the

special Conair oil included with your set.

Turn the clipper on for a minute, then turn

off. This light, natural oil was formulated

specifically for the Conair high-speed

clipper. Because it is the right oil to use, it

will not slow down the blades. Never use

any other product. There is no substitute

for Conair oil.

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS

IF YOU DETERMINE THAT BLADE

ALIGNMENT IS INCORRECT:

Conair

hair clippers are carefully inspected

to insure that the blades are in perfect

alignment. Of course you will need to

realign the blades after removal for cleaning

or replacement, or if they should be

knocked out of alignment. How can you

tell if blades need realigning? Simply

match them up, point for point, to

conform with FIG. 1 below:

To prevent the clipper from contacting the

skin or cutting too closely, make certain

that the end top blade teeth are 1/32” to

1/16” back from bottom blade.

To Align Blades:

1. Add two or three drops

of Conair Lubricating Oil

(included).

2.Turn clipper on for a

minute to disperse oil

evenly over blades, then

turn off.

GUÍA DE CONAIR PARA CORTAR

EL CABELLO EN SU CASA

Antes de empezar:

1. Inspeccione el aparato para asegurarse

que esté libre de cabello y polvo, que esté

lubricado y que funcione correctamente

2. Coloque una toalla o una capa de barbero

alrededor del cuello de la persona a quien le

va a cortar el cabello

3. Siente a la persona de manera que su

cabeza esté al nivel de sus ojos para mayor

visibilidad y control

4. Desenrede el cabello, luego coja la corta-

dora confortablemente en su mano. Ya está

listo para empezar.

CORTES MEDIANOS A LARGOS

Empiece por cortar poco cabello, hasta acos-

tumbrase al cortado de cada peine accesorio.

Use el peine accesorio más largo para

empezar, luego use peines accesorios más

cortos para acortar el cabello.

• El peine accesorio corto (No.1) corta el

cabello a 1/8” (3 mm)

• El peine accesorio mediano-corto (No.2)

corta el cabello a 1/4” (6 mm)

• El peine accesorio mediano-largo (No.3)

corta el cabello a 3/8” (9 mm)

• El peine accesorio largo (No.4) corta el

cabello a 1/2” (13 mm)

• El peine accesorio largo (No.5) corta el

cabello a 5/8” (16 mm)

• El peine accesorio largo (No.6) corta el

cabello a 3/4” (19 mm)

• El peine accesorio largo (No.7) corta el

cabello a 7/8” (22 mm)

DETÉNGASE. PEINE. VERIFIQUE.

Para resultados óptimos, siga el ejemplo de los

profesionales: peine el cabello con

frecuencia y verifique los resultados mientras

peine. Esto evitará tener lados, flequillos o

líneas de nuca disparejos.

PERFECTOS CORTES CON

CORONILLAS PLANAS, CORTES

MILITARES ETC.

Siempre corte el cabello desde la parte trasera

de la nuca hacia la coronilla, usando el peine

accesorio más largo. Sostenga el peine contra

la cabeza y mueva la cortadora lentamente en

el cabello hacia arriba. Use la misma técnica

para los lados, cortando desde abajo hasta la

parte superior lateral de la cabeza.

ADVERTENCIA– Para

reducir el riesgo de quemaduras, electrocución,

incendio o lesiones personales:

1. Nunca deje este aparato desatendido

mientras esté conectado. No jale, tuerce o

enrolle el cable alrededor del aparato.

2. Este aparato no debería ser usado por,

sobre o cerca de niños o personas con

3. Use este aparato únicamente con el

propósito para el cual fue diseñado y tal

como se describe en este manual. Sólo use

LA UNIDAD EN EL AGUA

Para la parte delantera, corte el cabello en la

dirección contraria a la del crecimiento natural

del cabello, luego iguale los lados.

Para una coronilla plana, use un peine plano

en vez de un peine accesorio, y corte el cabello

encima del peine (véase el dibujo).

Para cortar el pelo en la nuca y en las patillas,

use el peine accesorio No.1 (Véase la sección

“Contorneo”).

CUCHILLAS:

Las cortadoras de Conair

son inspeccionadas

para asegurarse que las cuchillas estén

perfectamente alineadas. Usted necesitará

alinearlas nuevamente después de extraerlas

para limpiarlas o reemplazarlas o si se desalin-

earan por un golpe. Para determinar si

las cuchillas necesitan alinearse de nuevo,

simplemente hágalas coincidir como lo

indican la figura que se encuentra a

continuación.

Para evitar que la cortadora corte el pelo

demasiado corto o que las cuchillas toquen la

piel, asegúrese que la parte superior de la

cuchilla grande esté a una distancia de 0.08

• El peine accesorio para la oreja izquierda con-

tornea la oreja izquierda

• El peine accesorio para la oreja derecha con-

tornea la oreja derecha

Para ensamblar el peine

accesorio, sosténgalo

cabeza arriba y engánch-

elo en la parte inferior del

filo de la cortadora.

Para quitar el peine

accesorio, cójalo entre

los dedos índice y pul-

gar, tal como se ve en la

ilustración, y jale el

peine hacia arriba y

afuera.

NOTA: Nunca empuje la cortadora para que

corte más rápidamente. La experiencia pro-

fesional demuestra que funciona mejor

cuando corta a su propia velocidad.

Empezar el corte de cabello:

1. Peine el cabello en la dirección de su crec-

imiento natural

2. Empiece el recorte a un lado de la cabeza,

usando el peine accesorio más largo, y cor-

tando de abajo hacia arriba. Sostenga la

cortadora ligeramente contra el cabello con

los dientes del peine apuntando hacia arriba y

plano contra la cabeza. Pase la cortadora en el

cabello gradualmente

hacia arriba y hacia

fuera, cortando un poco

cada vez. Repita al otro

lado y atrás de la

cabeza .

ACEITE ESPECIAL

Para mantener las cuchillas de su cortadora

en condición óptima, lubríquelas después de

tres o cuatro cortes de cabello, aplicando

unas cuantas gotas de aceite lubricante en los

dientes de las cuchillas. Encienda la cortadora

durante un minuto, luego apáguela. El aceite

lubricante fue específicamente diseñado para

las cortadoras de alta velocidad de Conair

Porque es el aceite adecuado, no reducirá la

velocidad de las cuchillas. Nunca use otro

aceite para lubricar su aparato. No hay ningún

substituto al aceite de Conair.
